The plant runs in shifts. Its records should keep up.
A plant has three kinds of people: permanent staff, contractor-supplied workers and the office. Most HR software only sees the office. ZekoHR keeps all three on one record, free for a year.
Up to 50 employees free for 12 months. No card, no sales call.
What the register misses, and what ZekoHR records
Contract and permanent, mixed up
Labour-contractor workers come and go, and nobody can say who is on site this month or whose engagement ended. Agencies add their own workers for HR to approve, each with an engagement and dates.
Tools and gear walk away
Uniforms, hand tools, safety shoes and the occasional laptop are issued on a slip that is lost by Friday. The asset register tracks issue and return against each person, with history on the profile.
Safety concerns stay unsaid
Workers rarely raise unsafe conditions or harassment in person. An anonymous grievance channel with a tracking code gives them a route that only HR Managers and Admins can see.
Records that survive an inspection
Attendance and leave held against each worker's record, payslips published as PDFs to every phone, documents with verification and expiry, and an audit log of who changed what. The wage slip the labour inspector asks for is already there.

How plants bring it in
Load the roster
Import permanent staff from a CSV with employee codes, departments and designations. Add each labour contractor as an agency and let them propose their workers.
Mark attendance monthly
HR records attendance days and loss-of-pay from your existing register or biometric export; payroll pro-rates automatically from the LOP count.
Issue and track assets
Register tools, PPE and devices once, assign on issue, mark on return. Offboarding shows what is still outstanding before the settlement.
When ZekoHR is not the right choice
You need shift rosters, biometric clock-in or overtime calculation
ZekoHR does not roster shifts, read biometric devices or compute overtime. Attendance is recorded by HR as days worked and LOP. Keep your time-and-attendance system and feed the monthly summary in.
You need statutory filings generated
PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS are manual pay components by design. ZekoHR computes the payslip; the ECR, ESI return and challans are prepared outside it.
Most workers have no phone
The portal needs a phone browser. If a large part of the workforce cannot use one, HR runs ZekoHR on their behalf and prints payslips; the self-service benefit is smaller.
Before you decide
Common questions
Does it handle shift rosters?
No. ZekoHR records attendance as HR-marked days and loss of pay, which payroll pro-rates. Rostering and biometric clock-in stay in your time-and-attendance system.
Can workers without desks or laptops use it?
Yes, from a phone browser at your subdomain with nothing to install. Payslips, leave and policies are there. Where phones are not practical, HR applies leave on their behalf.
How do we handle contract and permanent staff?
Permanent staff are employees. Labour-contractor workers come in through the Contractors module: HR adds the agency, the agency proposes workers, HR approves, and each worker has an engagement with dates.
Is there a safe channel for safety complaints?
Yes. Grievances can be raised named or anonymously, with a secret tracking code, optional evidence uploads and a retaliation flag. Cases are visible only to HR Managers and Admins.
